The California
In December of 1912 Clara Baldwin Stocker, eldest daughter of California pioneer E. J. “Lucky” Baldwin took delivery of a beautiful private Pullman railcar appropriately named the “California.” The “California” was a traveling mansion and can be likened to owning a private jet airplane today. Many photos exist of Clara and her family enjoying trips around the country.
